A typical day at work: I work enthusiastically throughout the day, providing high-quality psychiatric care to a full schedule of patients. Each day involves comprehensive evaluations, medication management, and collaboration with patients to achieve their treatment goals. What you believe you learned: I have gained valuable experience managing a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, including complex cases with multiple medical and psychiatric comorbidities. This role has strengthened my ability to apply evidence-based practices and develop individualized treatment plans. Management: Management is supportive, approachable, and committed to providing the resources needed for clinicians to deliver excellent patient care. They foster a professional environment and encourage collaboration. Workplace culture: The workplace culture is positive, respectful, and team-oriented. Staff members are supportive of one another, creating an environment that promotes collaboration, professional growth, and quality patient care. The hardest part of the job: The most challenging aspect of the job is managing patients who become aggressive or highly agitated. These situations require effective use of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques, de-escalation skills, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment for everyone. The most enjoyable part of the job: The most enjoyable part of the job is working in a healthy, vibrant office environment with supportive colleagues and staff. The positive atmosphere makes it rewarding to provide patient care while collaborating with an outstanding team.

I really enjoy the work and feel like its meaningful to clients. The time flexibility has also been amazing! The only downside is not getting paid when Medicaid clients are a no-show for appointments, but the folks that do the scheduling are very supportive and will get other clients in my available time slots quickly. It only took a few weeks after starting to get to a full caseload, keeping me very busy (as a good thing!) I also get to choose the populations that I’m comfortable working with, and making internal referrals for another therapy, medication management, etc. is a breeze 🙂 Pros flexible schedule, supportive managers, issues resolved quickly, competitive wages, and great health benefits Cons not getting paid for Medicaid no-show appointments, EHR platform isn’t very user-friendly and can be difficult to learn to navigate

I have been extremely happy to be a provider at LifeStance. The company is so well organized. There are clear processes and supports in place for everything. I can reach out with questions to HR, IT, and compliance easily and receive fast responses. My family’s health insurance is excellent and there are always great free CEs available. LifeStance is an ethical company that truly supports providers so we can focus on what we want to do, which is supporting our patients. I have seen the interdisciplinary model promote best care for my patients as I have been able to refer patients to other providers for therapy and medication management, which they access without delay. I have also had therapists and medication managers refer patients to me for diagnostic clarity. I feel good to be part of a larger team that is helping patients with a company that truly lives their values. Pros Ethical company, excellent health insurance, interdisciplinary model helps clients, independence and support as a provider Cons Holidays are not paid.

Great work/life balance but high profit cut from LifeStance Pros Flexible schedule allows for great work/life balance, clinicians and staff within local practice group are wonderful to work and consult with, insurance and advertising is covered by LifeStance. Cons LifeStance takes more than 45% of clinician profit compared to other fee for service companies in the are that take 40% or less. LifeStance NH does not accept all insurances like neighboring states. Advice to Management Increase clinician pay % and consider accepting all health insurance such as Medicaid.

Great work-life balance Pros Autonomy, good work-life balance, great staff, great pay Cons Large corporation so sometimes can be a bit difficult to navigate who does what and learn all the processes but they do try to make sure you have access to everything through their portal. If newer clinician, might feel a little isolating so would advise experience prior to coming here.
