ROLE OVERVIEW

Our Accounting team is looking for a Corporate Sr. Accountant who will split their time between the Corporate and Tax departments. In this role, you will participate in the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations, prepare local tax filings, assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, and support ad-hoc projects. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
·       Preparing journal entries, analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations during month end close process
·       Assist in implementing and documenting accounting procedures
·       Answer financial and accounting questions by researching and interpreting data
·       Assist with annual internal and external audits including preparation of required schedules, providing requested backup
·       Assist with the preparation and filing of property tax filings
·       Assist with the quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and monthly tax account reconciliations
·       Collaborate with other teams within the Finance and Accounting Department
·       Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
·       Other projects as necessary
 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 
·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
·       2+ years accounting experience; experience within a publicly traded company or public accounting preferred
·       Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
·       Basic knowledge and experience preparing and reviewing federal, state, and tax provisions; tax return experience is a plus
·       Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
·       An eye for process improvement, ability to challenge the status quo and identify improvements
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·       Ability to think critically, take ownership, and see a process/project through to the end
·       High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
·       Adaptability, responsiveness to change, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
·       Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States
